All the main shops are located in Castlebay, with the Co-op being the main supermarket, plus other grocery stores located on the main street.  The Co-op is open every day (including Sundays).  There are other general stores selling a range of gifts, toys, household goods and hardware.  The petrol station and bank with cash machine are also in the main street.  There is a tourist information office (open in season) just off the main street, which provides travel timetables and other useful information, as well as selling maps, post cards and books.

The swimming-pool is open most days (timetable available from reception or from the tourist office) and is located in the Castlebay School buildings.  The library is next to this, and offers free internet access.  Recycling facilities are provided nearby in Castlebay.
